Personal Development Growth is Important to Me |

How often do you consider your own personal development growth? Our daily lives are so busy that we often neglect to think about our spiritual, emotional and intellectual needs. Personal development growth is very important to me. I try to ensure that I grow intellectually by reading books and articles, watching documentaries and good quality movies, keeping up with the news and debating current topics with my husband, friends and family. I am aware that personal development growth is about more than just the intellect. It is about being honest with yourself so that you can improve as a person. Each of us has good and bad character traits. Personal development growth is about trying to harness the good traits and work on the bad ones. I know, for example, that I am good at listening, conveying information, building up other peoples’ self esteem and making people laugh. I try to work with those abilities to improve the lives of the people around me. On the negative side I get angry easily if I think that an injustice has been done to me or somebody I care about, and sometimes I don’t think before I speak. My anger stands in the way of my personal development growth, and so I am trying to work on it. Instead of exploding, I try to walk away until I am calm. Unfortunately I’m not always successful, but nobody said personal development growth was an easy process. I will continue to try to be the best person I am capable of being, and I hope that you will do the same.
