Author: Claus & Ingrid Dreyer

Within Self realization has been a topic of interest for centuries now…a stage of harmony where the mind and body, the spiritual and the physical elements of an individual and of nature are in complete unison, a suspended stage when one feels and experiences nothing but complete and heavenly peace. But how can one gain it and who can gain it? And how is it useful? Firstly, each and every human being living on this planet can gain this stage of perfect and ultimate harmony.

Today, with new types of stress and tensions cropping up on a daily basis, it has become important that people strive to gain peace. But interestingly, this phenomenon and the methods used to gain it have not been invented recently. They have always been there for centuries but are now been practiced on a wide scale to escape the deadly knife of tension. Techniques and methods like meditation, yoga, Reiki and various other spiritual practices are being taught and practiced all over the world today. But the roots of these techniques lie in the centuries old text of Eastern countries like India, Japan and China. In these countries these techniques were used even thousands of years ago. But today even western countries have not been able to escape the lure of peace that they promise.

In India, Japan and China these meditative techniques were used not only for the physical and mental well being but also for seeking perfect harmony between human and the supernatural. This meant a harmony between man and nature. In present scenario, such a harmony id difficult to attain considering that most of us live in cities. On top of this, our hectic office schedules do not allow us to spare a little time for ourselves. As a result most of us today suffer from mental or physical ailments and usually with both. And this problem starts early, usually from student life. Therefore the remedy should also be administered as early as possible. Not only adults but also students should also be taught yoga and meditation. This will not only help them to relieve themselves of the day’s tension, but also rejuvenate them mentally and spiritually. This will help them in performing better the next day at their work and school. A tension free and energetic mind and body will happily give its best to his/her work and relationships.

This will also help a person in building a better personality and become a better human being. A tension free person, who does not crib about what others have done or not done and who need not worry about him/herself will be able to think about the needs and sufferings of the people, animals and all kinds of life forms. The person will be able to appreciate the fact that though he does not have everything in the world, he is still far better than many. He/She will also try to contribute selflessly towards to better of such beings.

When an individual is able to reach this stage where he/she thinks about others and not just about him/herself, the person has reach succeeded to attain the ultimate harmony between him/herself and the nature or between the human and the supernatural/God. The person will then be able to lead a perfect life full of happiness, without feeling hurt, let down or disappointed. This perfect stage is when a person realizes him/her self completely and is able to discover and develop an altogether new self.

Today when people do not hesitate in cheating, depriving others of their rights, are being constantly lured towards material gains and when humanity is loosing its essence, meditative techniques try to build the broken bridge between humans and humanity.
