Self rendezvous of soul and mind in Unfoldment of the Great Within

Author: Claus & Ingrid Dreyer

Every person has two identities, one, which is external, and other, which is inside us. The outer self is basically related to one’s outer social life, which means his or her outré demeanor. This outer self of a person is the way one looks, eats, and speaks. It is the way in which the world perceives the individual’s outer appearance and characteristics. The individual’s personality is defined by his or her actions. On the other side, the inner self is the true self which is considered as the intuition of one’ self.

Our outer self is mainly a reflection of our inner self. Nowadays our lives have become increasingly materialistic therefore; our outer self has lost connection with the inner self. That is why our inner self is thoroughly neglected and spoiled by deterioration of the outer self.

In the childhood days, the self is active and innocent but gradually, when an individual grows, he learns and gathers experiences of life and its material aspects. He gets accustomed to artificiality and shams of life. During his stressful life, he forgets to concentrate on his physical and mental health. Not only his body but gradually his mind also is affected due to his workaholic lifestyle. In such a case, to make your outer self-healthy, the inner self has to be cared and attended properly, but how to enhance the individual’s inner strength? The illness of the inner self can be analyzed by various symptoms, such as getting angry easily, pessimistic thinking, obsession, and remaining silent and reserved in a big gathering.

To cure inner self, one should first take a leap inside one’ own self and analyze the priorities. This is possible only when one gets out of the daily monotonous routine and sits in the company of his inner self and explores what is actually lacking inside him and what he really wants out of his existence.

If an individual thoroughly explores one’s inner self, one would find that the problem basically lies within and not outside. It’s basically the problem of our internal self which when ignored takes a larger form and comes outside in its monstrous form. If the person were for a long time obsessed with negative thoughts, his action would definitely reflect his mindset. For instance, once there were two friends who had a duel over some petty stuff. They did not talk for almost two weeks. One of them who actually made the mistake was repentant for his action but the other one was greatly annoyed with his friend and decided to take revenge. After two weeks, the first one decided to meet his friend to apologize for his wrongdoing. As soon as he went to his friend, his friend suddenly avenged him. This short instance clearly shows that your negative thoughts in the mind direct the wrong action.

Our inner self basically consists of mind and soul. Our soul speaks through our mind and so it is important for each individual to take care that only positive thoughts reside in his mind. The filthy and dirty thoughts about revenge, hatred and destruction should not be allowed to enter your mindset.

Negative thoughts release negative energy. So, one should consistently and regularly practice meditation to breath out negative thoughts from mind. This practice would lead to purification of soul. Cleaning of pessimistic thoughts from the mind in turn stops their effect at the level of the mind as all your thoughts do have a deep impact on the soul of a person. You must release your positive self.
